Every breeder has a story. It usually begins with the purchase of one dog that is just that extraordinary. Ours is Boone. He came to us at a particularly tough time, with a definite purpose, so it seemed appropriate to name Boonefield Labradors after him. Our lives will never be the same! Shortly after he joined us, we bought Piper. We had great aspirations of breeding and spent the next two years learning everything we could about responsible breeding, going to shows, meeting people and studying dogs. We found great mentors and have made incredible friends along the way who taught us more than we ever could have imagined, and we would not be where we are today without their help and guidance. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

As Boone and Piper grew, so did our enthusiasm.  Although neither passed their final clearances for breeding, they went on to do other important jobs here at Boonefield. We were more determined than ever to breed responsibly and start with a solid foundation. We welcomed Oakley home from Handy Hill in early 2012. She was everything we had hoped for and we had such big plans for her. Unfortunately, we lost her the day after her first litter was born. It was a devastating blow and a difficult time.  We could not have gotten through it without all the support we had.  We were lucky enough to find a surrogate for our orphaned babies.  There will always be a huge hole in our hearts. Oakley taught us so much in her short life and we are so blessed to have had her. She lives on here through her son Waylon who is a constant reminder of her. We have continued to add other dogs to our pack and are excited about the future of Boonefield Labradors.
